The Purpose of This Blog...

Well, I'm trying to put into words the purpose. Purpose is a powerful word though. It will set my direction, create a seemingly useful map of what my next steps will be and how this blog will grow. I'm a teacher by trade that has found herself in love with being a "librarian". I say that with quotes because I don't have the degree but for lack of better terms, I am one who works in a library. I create story time programs for the very young (0-24 months) and for those in grades K-2nd. I love my job...without a doubt, I LOVE my job! Recently, my work at the library has led me to be involved in our Community Early Childhood Council that ties me to the public school system as well as the children who are in preschool, prepping for school. I have been blessed with this opportunity and strive to create a connection between families, children, and books. So, after reading all of that, the purpose of this blog is to keep a written account of my programs, how to improve on them, and how to better my craft as I grow with each story time I present. I want to share links, documents, ideas, and anything else that I think will help others in bringing literacy into their lives and planting the seed that a library is so much more than books!
